Major European Dark Web Raid Nets Swiss Arrest

In a significant breakthrough against cybercrime, European authorities have successfully conducted a massive operation codenamed 'RapTor' targeting dark web criminal networks. The operation, which spanned across 270 illicit websites, represented one of the largest coordinated efforts against dark web marketplaces. The primary targets included notorious platforms such as Nemesis, Tor2Door, Bohemia, and Kingdom Markets, known hubs for illegal activities.

Switzerland played a crucial role in this international operation, with authorities successfully apprehending one suspect within Swiss borders. The arrest highlights Switzerland's commitment to combating cybercrime and its active participation in international law enforcement efforts. The Swiss suspect was identified during the investigation of multiple dark web marketplaces, where sophisticated encryption tools and cryptocurrency transactions were used to conceal illegal activities.

The operation yielded substantial results, with law enforcement agencies seizing an impressive array of illegal goods and assets. Over 180 firearms were confiscated, along with more than two tonnes of various illicit drugs. Perhaps most notably, authorities secured €184 million in combined cash and cryptocurrency assets, demonstrating the substantial financial scale of these criminal operations.
