Swiss lawmakers reject medicine-supply initiative in favour of government plan

The House of Representatives has rejected the popular initiative on securing medicine supplies, backing the Federal Council’s narrower counter-proposal instead. The alternative would create central monitoring of shortages and allow measures including incentives, procurement and domestic production.
