Despite declining traditional religious participation, religion and spirituality continue to play significant roles in Swiss society, particularly during critical life moments. The FSO reports that 56% of the population considers religion important during difficult times, and 52% value it during periods of illness.
Gender differences are notable, with women generally attributing more importance to religion and spirituality than men. Additionally, 45% of parents consider religion important in child education, suggesting that while institutional religious participation may be declining, religious and spiritual values continue to influence Swiss family life and personal development.
