Ten online casinos hold a Swiss licence in October 2026. Each one is run by a land-based casino and pays out in Swiss francs. We rank only those licensed sites on four things: the licence, the real cost of the bonus, how fast a withdrawal arrives and how the site works on a phone.

The licence matters more than the bonus. It decides whether your winnings are tax-free, which payment methods you can use and who you can turn to when a payout is refused. Every card below shows the licence first.

Jackpots.ch: the biggest welcome offer

4.8/5Best for: Bonus hunters and jackpot players

Jackpots.ch belongs to Grand Casino Baden and was the first Swiss online casino to open, in July 2019. The welcome offer goes up to CHF 2,200 with 200 free spins, the highest headline figure in Switzerland, and the wagering requirement is 30x.

The lobby holds more than 3,100 games and puts progressive jackpots first. There are apps for Android and iOS and slot tournaments twice a week. The weak point is the payout: plan for 1 to 3 working days, and check the fee table, because some withdrawal methods are charged.

Swiss4Win: the fastest payouts

4.7/5Best for: Players who want their money the same day

Swiss4Win is the online casino of Casinò Lugano, live since March 2021. It was the first Swiss casino to pay out approved withdrawals at once, and that is still its main argument. The offer is up to CHF 1,000 with 350 free spins.

The price for that is the wagering requirement of 45x, the highest in our ranking. If you plan to take the bonus, compare it with a 30x offer first. The lobby has about 2,600 games, with a loyalty club and a poker section, and the layout works well on a phone.

MyCasino.ch

MyCasino: the largest game library

4.6/5Best for: Players who want choice

MyCasino is run by Grand Casino Luzern and opened in August 2019. With more than 4,300 games from over 50 studios it has the largest lobby among Swiss casinos, including live tables streamed from the casino in Lucerne.

The welcome bonus is small: 100% up to CHF 300 with 200 free spins, at 35x wagering. Payouts are a strength. With a YAPEAL account they arrive at once, and other methods take up to 3 days.

More than 3,100 games are available, and the site is the Swiss home of PokerStars, so you can play poker against other players under a Swiss licence. Withdrawals take 1 to 3 days, and PostFinance is missing from the payment list.

The lobby is built around Novoline slots such as Book of Ra deluxe and Lucky Lady's Charm, the games many players know from land-based halls. Payouts are advertised as instant. Payment choice is narrower than at older casinos: TWINT and cards.

7Melons is the online casino of Grand Casino Bern, online since September 2020. New players choose between two welcome offers: CHF 100 with 250 free spins, or CHF 300 with 50 super spins.

Its difference is the reward shop, where points from play are exchanged for free spins and bonuses, plus extras such as birthday spins. The live casino is strong. Payments are limited to TWINT and cards.

The lobby lists more than 2,200 games, with live roulette streamed from the floor in Pfäffikon and a poker section. TWINT and PostFinance are both accepted. Withdrawals are the slowest in this list at 3 to 5 working days, and small withdrawals carry a fee.

All 10 licensed Swiss online casinos

A Swiss online casino is always an extension of a land-based casino. The Federal Gaming Board (ESBK) adds online games to an existing casino concession, so every legal site has a physical casino behind it. These are the ten sites with that extension.

How Swiss casino law works

The Money Gaming Act (Geldspielgesetz, BGS) came into force on 1 January 2019, after 72.9% of voters approved it in June 2018. It made online casino games legal for the first time, under one condition: the operator must already hold a concession for a land-based casino in Switzerland.

Two authorities share the supervision. The ESBK (CFMJ in French) licenses and controls casinos, online and offline. Gespa supervises lotteries, sports betting and skill games, which is why Swisslos and Loterie Romande are the only legal sports betting sites.

Foreign operators cannot get a Swiss licence. The ESBK and Gespa publish lists of unlicensed sites, and Swiss internet providers must block those domains. The law targets operators and advertisers. An adult who plays at a foreign site does not commit an offence, but has none of the protections in the table below.

What a welcome bonus really costs

A welcome bonus is not cash. It stays locked until you have placed bets worth a multiple of the bonus, called the wagering requirement. Swiss casinos set it between 30x and 45x, and the difference is larger than the headline amounts suggest.

WageringBets needed on a CHF 100 bonusExpected cost at 96% RTP
30xCHF 3,000CHF 120
35xCHF 3,500CHF 140
45xCHF 4,500CHF 180

The last column shows the average cost of those bets on a slot that returns 96%. Even at 30x the cost is slightly higher than the bonus, and at 45x it is almost double. A bonus buys playing time, not free money. Lower wagering is worth more than a bigger headline amount.

Four terms to read before you accept

  • Time limit. Most Swiss bonuses expire after 30 days. Unfinished wagering means the bonus and its winnings are removed.
  • Maximum bet. While a bonus is active, a single bet above the limit can void it.
  • Game weighting. Slots usually count 100% towards wagering. Roulette, blackjack and live tables often count 10% or nothing.
  • Free spins. Winnings from free spins are bonus money too, with their own wagering and often a cap.

Deposits and withdrawals in Switzerland

Licensed Swiss casinos keep your balance in francs, so there is no conversion on the way in or out. Deposits are instant with every method except a bank transfer. Withdrawals differ a lot more, and the first one always waits for your identity check.

MethodDepositWithdrawalGood to know
TWINTInstantAt some casinosThe most used method. Where TWINT payouts are missing, the money goes to your bank account.
PostFinanceInstant1–3 working daysWorks with PostFinance Card and e-finance.
Visa / MastercardInstant1–3 working daysVisa and Mastercard. Some card issuers treat casino deposits as cash advances and charge a fee.
Apple PayInstantNot availableDeposit only. The payout goes to a bank account.
PaysafecardInstantNot availablePrepaid voucher from a kiosk. Useful if you want a hard spending limit.

YAPEALInstantInstantSwiss digital bank account. MyCasino uses it for instant payouts.
CryptoMinutesMinutes to hoursForeign-licensed casinos only. You carry the exchange-rate risk and the winnings are taxable.

A slow payout is usually a verification problem, not a payment problem. Upload your ID and a proof of address right after you sign up, and use the same name on the casino account, the TWINT account and the bank account.

Tax on casino winnings

Whether you owe tax depends on where you won, not on how much you play.

Swiss-licensed online casinos

Tax-free up to a threshold of just over one million francs per win: CHF 1,070,400 for federal direct tax in the 2025 tax year. The amount is adjusted for inflation, and cantons set their own figure close to it. Only the part above the threshold is taxed.

Swiss land-based casinos

Tax-free without a threshold. The casino pays a gaming tax on its revenue instead.

Foreign and unlicensed sites

Taxable as income from the first franc. You declare the winnings in your tax return, and the exemption does not apply.

Money that sits in a casino account or a crypto wallet on 31 December counts as wealth in every case. Keep the statements.

Which games Swiss casinos offer

Licensed casinos may only run games the ESBK has approved, so the lobbies are smaller than at foreign sites. The main categories are the same everywhere.

Slots

By far the largest category, with 2,000 to 4,000 titles per casino. Bets usually start at CHF 0.10 or CHF 0.20 a spin. Check the RTP in the game's help screen.

Jackpot slots

A share of every bet feeds a prize pool that grows until someone wins it. The base game pays back less in return, so play these for the jackpot, not for long sessions.

Roulette and blackjack

Digital tables with low minimum bets and the best payout rates in the casino. Choose European roulette with one zero over American roulette with two.

Live casino

Real dealers streamed from a studio or from the Swiss casino itself. Minimum bets are higher than at digital tables and live games rarely count towards bonus wagering.

Poker

Video poker is widely available. Poker against other players is offered by a few casinos only, for example PokerStars through Casino777.

Payout rates (RTP) in plain numbers

The return to player (RTP) is the share of all bets a game pays back over millions of rounds. A slot with 96% RTP keeps CHF 4 of every CHF 100 wagered on average. It says nothing about a single evening.

GameTypical RTP
Blackjack with basic strategyabout 99.5%
European roulette (one zero)97.3%
Online slots94% to 97%
Progressive jackpot slotsoften below 94% without the jackpot

Swiss casinos publish the RTP in each game's help screen. The same slot can run at different RTP settings at different casinos, so check the figure in the game before you play.

Playing on a phone

Every Swiss online casino works in a mobile browser without a download, and most of the lobby is available there. Some casinos, including Jackpots.ch and Swiss4Win, also offer apps for iOS and Android.

TWINT makes mobile deposits simple: you confirm the payment in the TWINT app and return to the casino. Set your deposit limit before you install anything. A phone makes it easy to play more often than you planned.

How to open an account

Registration takes a few minutes. The identity check is the step that takes time.

  1. Pick a licensed casino

Check that the site is one of the ten in the list above. The licence holder is named in the footer of the casino's site.

  2. Register with your real details

You need to be 18 and live in Switzerland. The name must match your ID and your bank account.

  3. Verify your identity

Upload an ID and a proof of address. Until the check is done the account is provisional: deposits are capped at CHF 1,000 and winnings cannot be paid out.

  4. Set your limits

Choose a deposit or loss limit before the first deposit. You can lower it at any time.

  5. Deposit and read the bonus terms

A bonus is optional. If the wagering does not suit you, deposit without it and keep your balance withdrawable.

How to spot an unlicensed site

Sites without a Swiss licence often present themselves as Swiss. Five checks take less than a minute.

  1. The domain ends in .ch and matches one of the ten licensed casinos.
  2. The footer names a Swiss land-based casino as the operator.
  3. The balance is in Swiss francs, with no conversion step.
  4. TWINT is offered directly, not through a voucher seller.
  5. The site asks you to verify your identity and lets you set limits.

If one of these is missing, the casino does not hold a Swiss licence, whatever its name or flag suggests.

Limits, exclusion and where to get help

Swiss casinos must check every player against a nationwide exclusion register. A person who is excluded at one casino is excluded at all of them, online and offline. A casino must exclude players who gamble beyond their means, and you can request an exclusion yourself at any casino.

Foreign-licensed sites do not check the Swiss register. If you have excluded yourself, a foreign site will still let you in. That is the strongest reason to stay with licensed casinos.

How we rate and research

Every casino is rated on the same four criteria. The facts behind the ratings come from public sources that you can check yourself, listed in the table below.

Licence

We check each casino against the ESBK list of licensed online casinos and name the land-based casino behind it. Only ESBK-licensed casinos are ranked.

Bonus terms

We read the conditions behind the headline: wagering requirement, time limit, maximum bet and which games count. Lower wagering scores higher than a bigger amount.

Payouts and payments

We compare the withdrawal times and fees each casino publishes and which Swiss methods it supports: TWINT, PostFinance, cards and bank transfer.

Games and usability

We look at the size of the lobby, the live casino, how the site works on a phone and which languages it offers.

Questions about Swiss online casinos

Are online casinos legal in Switzerland?

Real-money casinos that serve players in Switzerland need a licence from the Swiss Federal Gaming Board (ESBK/CFMJ). That licence covers age checks, player protection, and a complaints route. A foreign licence does not authorise real-money play for people in Switzerland.

How do I check that a casino is licensed?

The ESBK publishes the list of licensed online casinos on esbk.admin.ch. There are ten. Each one names its land-based casino in the footer, and each domain ends in .ch.

Do I pay tax on casino winnings?

Winnings from an ESBK-licensed online casino are tax-free up to a threshold of about CHF 1.07 million per win; only the amount above it is taxed. Winnings from Swiss land-based casinos are tax-free without a limit. Winnings from a casino without a Swiss licence are taxable income from the first franc.

Can I play at a foreign online casino from Switzerland?

A foreign casino is not allowed to offer games in Switzerland, and its domain can be blocked. The player does not commit an offence. But the winnings are taxable, TWINT is not available, a Swiss exclusion is not applied and the ESBK cannot help with a refused payout.

Why is a casino site blocked in Switzerland?

The ESBK and Gespa keep public lists of gambling sites without a Swiss licence. Internet providers must block the listed domains, and visitors see an official notice instead. A block means the operator has no Swiss authorisation.

Can I deposit and withdraw with TWINT?

The licensed Swiss casinos in our ranking accept TWINT for deposits, and the balance is available at once. Some also pay out to TWINT. Otherwise the withdrawal goes to a Swiss bank account in your name.

How fast can I withdraw?

It depends on the casino and the method. Swiss4Win and MyCasino release approved withdrawals at once. Most other Swiss casinos take 1 to 3 working days. The first withdrawal is slower everywhere because the casino checks your identity first.

Which Swiss casino has the best bonus?

The largest headline offer is Jackpots.ch with up to CHF 2,200. The better measure is the wagering requirement: 30x at Jackpots.ch and Casino777, against 45x at Swiss4Win. Lower wagering means less of your own money goes into unlocking the bonus.

Why do I have to verify my identity?

The law requires it. The casino confirms your age and checks the exclusion register. Until that is done your account is provisional, with deposits capped at CHF 1,000 and no withdrawals.

How old do I have to be?

18. Swiss online casinos also require a residence in Switzerland and check both when you register.

What changed in October 2026

  • Swiss Casinos, Pasino, StarVegas and Casineo added, so all ten licensed casinos are now ranked.
  • Jackpots.ch: welcome offer updated to up to CHF 2,200 with 200 free spins.
  • Swiss4Win: offer updated to CHF 1,000 with 350 free spins, wagering corrected to 45x.
  • 7Melons: the single welcome bonus was replaced by a choice of two offers.
  • Casino777 and Jackpots.ch: payout time corrected to 1 to 3 days.
