Toxic PFAS Found in Swiss Lake Fish

In a concerning development for Switzerland's aquatic ecosystems, recent investigations have revealed significant levels of PFAS (perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination in fish populations across Western Switzerland's lakes. The comprehensive study, initiated in January 2024, involved a systematic sampling campaign across four major lakes - Lake Geneva, Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Murten, and Lac de Joux.
