Streaming services have emerged as the dominant force in the Swiss music market, accounting for over 90% of total sales in 2024. Major platforms including YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify have been identified as the primary drivers of this growth. This digital transformation reflects a broader global trend in music consumption patterns, with Swiss consumers fully embracing the convenience and accessibility of streaming platforms.

Swiss German dialect music has shown remarkable popularity in streaming charts, with artists like Stubete Gäng, Schwizergoofe, Patent Ochsner, Gölä, and Hecht leading the local charts. International artists also maintained strong presence, with Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish topping the charts among foreign acts, followed by Eminem, The Weeknd, and David Guetta. The continued shift towards digital consumption has led to a dramatic decline in physical format sales, particularly CDs. With a 25% decrease compared to 2023, CD sales reached a historic low of CHF9.7 million - the lowest figure since the format's introduction in the early 1980s.
