Basel Launches Eurovision Karaoke Tram Initiative

The 'Drämmli-Lounge', a carefully preserved 1972 Basel Verkehrsbetriebe (BVB) tram, has been reimagined as a mobile karaoke venue. This innovative transformation maintains the tram's historic charm while incorporating modern entertainment technology. The project, sponsored by renowned Basel-based sweet manufacturer Ricola, demonstrates Switzerland's knack for combining tradition with contemporary culture.

The karaoke tram will operate from May 11-17, 2025, coinciding with Eurovision festivities. Each journey lasts 90 minutes, departing from Messeplatz. While the experience is free, participants must secure their tickets online starting April 30. To maintain a family-friendly atmosphere, strict regulations are in place - including prohibitions on alcohol consumption and dining onboard. These measures ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
