Sperisen challenges Switzerland over 14-year legal proceedings
Former Guatemalan police chief Erwin Sperisen has taken Switzerland back to the European Court of Human Rights, arguing that proceedings against him have lasted more than 14 years. His latest conviction, for complicity in the killing of seven prisoners in Guatemala, remains before Switzerland’s Federal Court.
