Solothurn site deemed suitable for European bison
A four-year trial near Welschenrohr in Solothurn found that the area offers suitable living conditions for European bison. The association behind the project says the trial clarified issues including animal management and coexistence with people, but does not settle whether a larger free-roaming herd is viable in the long term.
