Swiss Banks Halt Exchange of Bulgarian Lev Ahead of Euro Adoption
As Bulgaria prepares to adopt the euro in 2026, Swiss banks have stopped exchanging the Bulgarian lev. Banks are no longer able to resell the banknotes on the interbank market, making it difficult to exchange the currency in Switzerland.
