One in three Swiss animal and plant species faces threat of extinction

A new WWF assessment says one in three animal and plant species in Switzerland is threatened, a higher proportion than in neighbouring countries. Habitat pressure, pollution and climate change remain the main drivers, although conservation programmes have helped species including the Eurasian otter and white stork return.
